Transformative Language Arts Network

Disclosure: I am a board member and Membership Chair of TLAN and teaches classes there.

From the site:

Transformative Language Arts (TLA) is a field for practitioners who change the world with words. They use the written, spoken or sung word as tools for personal and community transformation. TLA-ers are activists, teachers, storytellers, coaches, mental health professionals, writers, poets, librarians, facilitators, performers and more.

The TLA Network is a member-organization that offers classes in TLA topics, community building and networking opportunities for members like Virtual Salons and the Power of Words conference, and resources for TLA practitioners to further their artist and business practices.

TLA makes a unique contribution to the world by focusing both on personal and community transformation. I believe that the equal focus on both makes TLA (and TLAN) uniquely positioned to help writers and family historians do work that liberate themselves and the people whose stories they’re telling.
